How filters work in dashboards
Learn how to apply filters to your dashboards in Dema to refine your data and focus on what matters most.
Introduction to filters
Filters let you narrow down the data displayed in your dashboard, helping you focus on what’s most important. In Dema dashboards, filters can be applied in two ways:
- Global filters: Affect all widgets in the dashboard.
- Widget filters: Apply only to a specific widget.
To learn more about filter behavior for metrics and dimensions, see Filtering metrics and Filtering dimensions.
Global filters
Global filters apply across the entire dashboard.
To set a global filter:
- Click the Filters button in the top-left corner of the dashboard.
- Choose the dimension or metric you want to filter by.
- Select the filter values and apply them.
Once added, the global filter will update all widgets in the dashboard.
Widget filters
Widget filters apply only to an individual widget and are combined with any global filters applied to the dashboard.
To add a widget-specific filter:
- Select the widget you want to filter.
- In the right sidebar, open the Filters menu.
- Choose the dimension or metric and set the desired filter values.
Both global and widget filters will be applied together. This allows you to further refine the data shown in a specific widget without affecting others.
